By creating musical opportunities, the Latin Jazz Ensemble aims to expand students' understanding of the globalization of music while highlighting our shared humanity through cultural differences.

The Award-winning FAMU Latin Jazz Ensemble is a unique cross-section of all of the music divisions, with an opportunity for instrumentalists and singers to join forces in a unique ensemble that allows for maximum creativity, as well as exploration of innovative and exciting repertoire in a multi-cultural setting.
 
In addition to learning about Latin rhythms and repertoire from South America and the Caribbean, students will receive instruction in ensemble playing, arranging, and recording.
