CSSAH CHANGE OF MAJOR PROCEDURES

The primary purpose of a Change of Major Form is to officially notify the University or College of your decision to change your area of study. This form ensures your records are accurately updated, and helps you navigate any changes in coursework requirements, financial aid eligibility, or other related processes. 

Current students who wish to change their major must adhere to the proper Change of Major instructions.

The College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (CSSAH) seeks to provide an exceptional student experience through ongoing communication. If your attempts to resolve a matter (academic or non-academic) have not been successful, please let us know. You may complete the Student Complaint Form and forward it to the Dean’s office via email at cssahadmin@famu.edu or in person at 214 Tucker Hall. The form is also available in 214 Tucker Hall. You will be contacted within three business days to discuss your complaint. If a student believes that he/she has experienced discrimination and/or any type of harassment, they must complete a “Charge of Discrimination/Harassment” form that can be obtained from the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs located at 674 Gamble Street, (850) 599-3076 or (850) 599-3216. Students who plan to graduate, must be sure to get ready for the application process the semester prior to graduation (or earlier).

If you plan to graduate, be sure to get ready for the application process the semester prior to graduation (or earlier). Review the University’s graduation requirements and procedures.

Here are the steps for the graduation process:

  • Inform your adviser that you intend to graduate (please do so no later than the start of the semester in which you intend to graduate).
  • Make sure that your Evaluation for Graduation is completed and signed by your adviser.
  • Acquire and complete the STUDENT INTENT TO GRADUATE FORM.
  • Turn in the completed form to your adviser.
  • Your adviser will then turn in the forms to the Department chair.
  • Check your iRattler account for a Positive Service Indicator (Eligible to Apply – ETA).
  • Complete the graduation application on iRattler.
  • Graduate.
